Welcome To Smart Breastfeeding
Breast milk look very different than formula; formula is creamier and richer looking than breast milk.
So you may think that formula is better for your baby, definitely not the case.
What’s amazing about breast milk is your milk is specially formulated to contain the right amounts of nutrients in the right composition for your baby.
Bottle-fed babies receive the exact same nutrients every time—but breast milk is continually changing in composition to meet your baby needs at any age.
Remember the old nursery rhyme; something learned from Little Miss Muffet, who sat on a tuffet, eating her curds and whey.
Have you ever looked at the differences between curds and whey?
This is how you can compare the differences between breast milk and formula…
Cow’s milk is the basic ingredient in formula. When milk—from
a cow or from your breast—is digested, it breaks down into two by-products: curds and whey.
The curd is white and rubbery, and the whey is liquid. Curd that forms from cow’s milk is hard for human babies to digest.
Breast milk forms more whey than curd and the curd is softer and easier to digest.
From my experience, because the baby can digest the breast milk easier than cow’s milk, no need to worry about changing clothes from spit-ups.
Formula companies are trying to make their formulas contain more whey and less curd so they can be easier to digest like breast milk.
In my opinion, breast milk is and will always be the perfect quality that formula companies are trying to duplicate and will never come close!
