The FDA announced on November 26, 2008 that there were small traces of melamine found in infant formulas made in America, however they, would not say the name of the manufacturing company.

It seems to me the FDA have more concern about the manufacturing company instead of the consumers. Read more

Flu Like Symptoms May Signify Mastitis

Yesterday I had a girlfriend call and ask me what to do about one of her breast being very painful and sore to the touch?

She just gave birth to a healthy baby girl and is breastfeeding.  She breastfed her first son and didn’t recall having this problem.

Why do some get mastitis or blocked milk ducts and others do not?

One main reason is not feeding often and emptying the breast at each feeding completely, and getting proper rest.

With breastfeeding you have to feed often and you tend not to get the proper rest especially at night.  So it is very important to try to rest often during the day as well as night. Read more
