IS IT SAFE TO CONSUME CAFFEINE WHILE BREASTFEEDING

Any food or drinks containing caffeine should be limited, as caffeine does pass through the milk.

These include coffee, hot or cold teas and soft drinks.  Pay careful attention to the caffeine content.

Soda companies are putting caffeine content in mg(milligrams) instead of mcg(micromilligrams) which is the smaller amount.

The amount of caffeine referred is equal to what is contained in five or fewer 5oz. cups of coffee per day.

Or one can of soda per day.

Keep in mind even with the referred, watch for signs from your baby if that amount is ok.  Every BODY  is  different.

Is It Safe To Take Diet Pills While Breastfeeding

January 4, 2009 · Filed Under Breastfeeding · Comment

The new year has arrived and everyone is making a new years’ resolution. LOSE WEIGHT

That is the question breastfeeding moms are asking. The good news for breastfeeding moms is you do not need to diet or take diet pills.

Your body will burn plenty calories producing milk and transferring it to your baby. Eat smart and healthy and occasional walks if you have time and energy is ideal.

Stick with breastfeeding for at least a year and you will notice  how your body will turn back to its original shape or better if you are consistent with breastfeeding only and not partial breastfeeding.

Listen to your body and follow the signs of what your body crave and need during this time of passage.

It’s ok to enyoy a hot fudge sundae with nuts and chocolate chip cookies occasional because the calories will burn with one breastfeeding.

Again, moderation is the key.
