Breastfeeding Can Lessen The Impact Of PPD
I experienced the baby blues as well as mild depression after the birth of my first child. Especially around the first month.
I would start crying for no reason. I didn’t really understand at the time the drastic changes that was happening with my hormones after giving birth.
Breastfeeding definitely helps with mild depression because it has a calming effect for the baby and you due to the high level of Oxytocin being released and producing a feeling of well being.
I was listening to the radio and a topic was being discussed about fathers being affected by post partum depression before and after the child is born and how it has been kept under the radar.
I definitely believe the fathers go through a hormonal change as well and no one is coming forth and talking about it, so I was glad to hear about it the other day on the radio.
Until the whole family unit is in harmony, there can be no harmony. If our hormones are in balance our family will be in harmony.
I would like to hear from you and your intake! Please comment on this topic so we may share with others that are searching for answers and not understanding what they are going through, they are not alone and it is normal.
